Soros Fund Management Sued By Former Employee - Report

Aaron Cowen, a former portfolio manager at George Soros’s Soros Fund Management - currently structured as a family office but formerly a hedge fund - has claimed that the firm "withheld at least $19.5 million in unpaid fees after firing him without explanation," Bloomberg reports, citing a complaint in Manhattan state Supreme Court.

Cowen joined Soros Fund Management in 2010 after serving as a portfolio manager and chief investment officer at SAC Capital Advisors. He reportedly had a “stellar” track record before being fired by Soros only eight months into the job.

“Shockingly, Cowen’s employment was terminated despite his positive returns, when other Soros portfolio managers were failing,” the complaint says, according to the news report.

Soros Fund Management could not be reached by Family Wealth Report at the time of publication.
